Lauren Carson is a singer and songwriter hailing from Toronto, known for her velveteen voice and introspective lyrics. She draws inspiration from artists such as Holly Humberstone and Stevie Nicks.
In a recent review by sound check entertainment, Carson was described as “a sunrise,” a testament to her ability to captivate audiences with her music. With a unique brand of groovy folk-pop and a focus on lyricism, Carson’s music is both soothing and thought-provoking. Carson’s debut album, Earl St. was released summer ’22, and received campus radio play across the country.
Most recently, she toured venues across Ontario to share her music with new audiences. Her live performances showcase her unique ability to connect deeply with listeners. As a songwriter, Carson often writes odes to youth and loneliness. Backed by a talented set of musicians, she weaves powerful and relatable experiences to listeners who find themselves in the audience.
Lauren is now promoting her newest release ‘Growing’ recorded at the Bathouse in Bath, ON, a powerful ballad of self-realization and knowing your worth.

On My Own Two Feet is a showcase of three artists who exude independence and ingenuity in their approach to making and performing music. Vocalists and emcees self-accompanying with a mix of live instruments, playback, and looping means that these artists are in total command of their creative output, resulting in a completely undiluted, authentic artistic expression.
ABOUT THE ARTISTS
dichotomi has constantly battled between their two innate natures – a creative side full of wanderlust and powerful emotional energy, and a critical, scientific side approaching life through a lens of practicality. Eventually they realized that they can exist as two things at once, which inspired the name “dichotomi” and resonates through their relaxed, uplifting sound & witty lyricism.
Xéynamay is a Toronto-based artist who expresses stories through music, film, and movement. Her debut EP, “Bole Rd.,” is inspired by the lively sounds of Disco, Ethio Azmari music, and Jazz. Embracing the multidisciplinary nature of art, she sees a song as a creation that can evolve from movement or colors into a sonic representation of emotion. She approaches art as a journey of exploration and healing. Ultimately, Xéynamay aims to create art that invites everyone to join her on Cloud Nine.
Shannon Chapman is a multifaceted neo-soul artist & producer drawing positive press for her sophisticated approach to songwriting, arranging and production. A multi-instrumentalist, Shannon’s signature palette of sultry woodwinds, lush jazz harmony, smooth vocals and laid-back grooves melt together into a mellow and funky soundscape. On her forthcoming EP ‘Playing Games”, Shannon wistfully embraces fresh starts, self-empowerment, and authenticity.
