Paige Warner creates tunes using her mesmerizing voice and relatable lyrics, while combining the catchiness of Pop with the beat-heavy flavours of R&B.

* Kuf Knotz & Christine Elise *
Philadelphia MC/Poet Kuf Knotz has combined forces with Harpist/Vocalist/Music Therapist, Christine Elise to create soulful, classical hip hop driven by a strong message. Traveling across North America for the past year supporting their album, “Higher Grounds”, Kuf and Christine have opened for top acts such as Wycelf, G-Love, Slick Rick, and Yellowman. The combination has lead to a powerful mission that invites those in the community to join in unity through the expression of art.

What started out once as a tiny little trio in late 2009 has grown into a core six-piece reggae groove outfit that brings the good vibes. That said, these days it’s more like a nine-piece! Four part harmonies, a blend of reggae roots, a touch of Afrobeat, and some Funky breaks… It’s always a Rockin’ dance party!

OUR BODIES OUR WORK showcases women in the arts, giving them a platform to be seen and heard, while at the same time giving back to the women in the community who go without on a daily basis.

OBOW III will feature Bex and the Disappointment, Myagomezmusicofficial, The Honeycomb Flyers, Emily Bridle Music, live painting by Jessa Bresser Art, artist booth with Liza Konovalov, and a TBA special guest performer!

All ticket proceeds go to Sistering 24 Hour Drop In, a multi-service agency for at-risk, socially isolated women in Toronto who are homeless or precariously housed. Tickets can be purchased at the door on the night of the event for $15.

Donations of toiletries, and new, non-white socks and underwear will also be gratefully accepted.

Raffle prizes and a silent auction that feature the work of the night’s artists will also contribute to the funds raised.

This is the third instalment of OBOW, and it has since raised over $1000 for SISTERING.

Join us in making a difference in women’s lives in downtown Toronto!

THE GREG WOODS BAND

Greg Woods is a Chicago-based singer-songwriter and jack-of-all-trades musician grown locally in Naperville, IL. A multi-instrumentalist and eclectic artist, Greg has been recording and performing in Chicago since 2012. Some of his diverse projects include co-founding local band Time & The New Romans and creation of MOSAIC Soul with fellow conductor Philip Armstrong.

THE NAMELESS CITIZENS

The Nameless Citizens (a.k.a. The NC’s) is the project of Peter Boros out of Toronto, Canada.Hailing from a university town of southern Hungary meant easy access to a vibrant music scene and many fellow musicians to play a smattering of styles with, from grunge and pop-rock to funk and jazz. It was here that the concept of Nameless Citizens first formed.After an incubation period of more than a decade, it was a chance encounter in 2016 during an epic road trip of the western United States which finally cracked the shell. An accomodation in Joshua Tree turned out to be an accomplished L.A. producer’s home studio. With his encouragement and mentorship the Nameless Citizens project was finally set in motion and the Out of the Mold  EP was born.The Nameless Citizens mission is to capture key moments in our everyday lives, weaving simple themes and melodies into a complex, rich tapestry of music reflecting the serendipitous nature of life itself. Offering a unique brand of intellectual pop-rock, The NC’s combines influences from rock groups such as Pearl Jam, The Killers and The Red Hot Chili Peppers, the flowing pop-rock of Coldplay and U2, and the cerebral music of Sting and Peter Gabriel.Out of the Mold  is the Nameless Citizens’ first EP released on May 4th 2018.

 

LOW LIFE LOLAS

Low Life Lolas, fronted by songwriter Renee Parr, is a Toronto-based indie-rock quartet whose haunting, bittersweet pop songs evoke a hint of nostalgia.

Inspired by contemporaries like Alvvays, Hop Along, and Bad Bad Hats, Parr places melody front and centre, crafting memorable hooks that underscore stories of struggle, heartbreak, and queer love. Through the lens of her Northern Ontario upbringing, Parr’s songs challenge the confines of urban life with allusions to the unforgiving Canadian wilderness — and the beautiful and dangerous creatures that inhabit it.

Their debut EP Wolves, produced by Ian Blurton, was released May 10, 2019
