A thought-provoking panel discussion on
Canadian Artists: Plight, Flight, Fight.
This month we will discuss what it means to work in the creative arts in Canada, from both artist and industry perspective. To be a working creative generally means a fight for your creative expression, does this fight need to be harder because you are a Canadian? This panel will dissect what that fight looks like. We will examine whether there is an accessible path to ‘success’ in Canada, barriers that may emerge, and whether Canadian creatives need to leave the country to flourish and find ‘success’. Incorporating multiple perspectives and considering aspects from a variety of art mediums (eg. theatre, music, visual arts, photography) this panel discussion will be followed by a short Q&A where you can bring your questions to industry leaders.
Our distinguished panel is Jamie Angell, Bob Carnie, Karrnnel Sawitsky and Kelly Read and will be moderated by Diviya Lewis.
